  • Configure, install, test, and troubleshoot various business communications systems either remotely or onsite including VoIP business phone systems, surveillance camera systems, mass notification systems, and overhead paging systems.
  • Perform onsite site survey assessments for needs assessment, VoIP readiness, and device placement.
  • Install, terminate and test network cables, following industry standards and wrap-up procedures.
  • Become familiar with firewall configurations, WAN/LANS.
  • Obtain industry/vendor-specific certifications and attend ongoing trainings.
  • Routine server maintenance and service requests such as moves, adds, and changes, to equipment and programming.
  • Capable of effectively communicating technical information in English, both written and verbal.



  • Previous experience or knowledge with voice and data networking, IT, telecommunications, surveillance, or other related fields preferred but not required.
  • Must be comfortable with installing and troubleshooting a variety of diverse product sets of technologies.
  • Must display strong aptitude in critical thinking & problem-solving skills.
  • Strong Interpersonal skills; ability to work well with others in fast paced environment.
  • Must be capable of presenting and explaining information directly to end user in clear, concise terms- both written and orally.
  • Must be capable of lifting and climbing ladders, lifting boxes, using tools required for installation of cabling and technology systems independently.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and willing to travel to client sites daily throughout a 50-miles radius from Columbia, Maryland, including Northern Virginia and Washington D.C.
  • Must be available to work on weekends on an “on-call” basis.
  • Knowledge in the use of power tools, and must have own standard tools (any specialized tools will be supplied).

  • Ability to inform customers of systems, applications and services that would provide a benefit or solve a need.
